Hire movers well in advance; at Kelly Moving, we book customers a month to a month and a half before their move. Last-minute moves are stressful.

If possible, handle smaller items yourself to cut down on move time. The less time, the lower your bill.

Downsize before your move to save money.

Keep your medications, valuables, and documents with you. Things to keep with you, not on the truck, include a few days of clothing, important documents, medication, valuables, and irreplaceable items.

Your moving rate depends on the type of move, distance, services needed, volume of goods, and home size.

Can the Movers Pack My Whole House?
Yes! Our dedicated crew can handle your whole house, using the right packing materials like bubble wrap, stretch wrap, and high-quality boxes to protect your belongings. We offer full and partial packing solutions, including unpacking.

Will the Movers Reassemble My Furniture?
Our team will carefully disassemble your furniture for safe transport and reassemble it in your new home​

Should I Tip the Movers?
Tips are greatly appreciated, but defiantly not required. If your crew does a fantastic job, tipping is a great way to show your appreciation. A common rule of thumb is $5 to $10 per mover per hour or 10-20% of the total cost.

Are There Items Kelly Moving is Unable to Move?

Due to safety regulations, we can’t move flammable or hazardous materials, such as household cleaning supplies, lawn care chemicals, and paint thinner.

Other restricted items include firearms and ammunition, live plants, live animals, and high-value items. We can move items like gun safes, pianos, and grandfather clocks with an additional charge, but we cannot move any items over 1,000 pounds.

Certain items can only be moved if they are broken down, but we cannot calibrate or reassemble them, (including trampolines, saunas, grand pianos, pool tables, etc.)
